born June 24th 1838 in the village of Mauleon Barousse, Department Hautes-Pyrenees, France, located in southern France, in the Pyrenees Mountains near the border with Spain.
Theodore was 17 or 18 in 1856, when according to the 1900 Federal Census, He immigrated to America.
On March 19th 1860 Theodore married
in Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgard, Saint John the Baptist Parish, Louisiana.

According to the 1860 Census taken June the 9th Theodore was not living with his wife but was an English Teacher living at Jefferson College in Convent, Saint James Parish, Louisiana.
The first image below is of page 23 and shows on line 36 Charles Oscar Dugue, President of Jefferson College. His household #147 continues on page 24 the next image. The next household #148 has 18 people including 6 who where teachers. I believe this is strong evedence that Theodore lived and taught at Jefferson College. Theo is on line 17, in household #148.

During the War between the States, Theo joined The French Company of Saint James,
a Confederate Militia Unit made up of French Nationals living in Saint James Parish, Louisiana,
who swore to help protect Louisiana from the Union Forces.
Theodore and Angela's first child (Josephine Marie) was born December 14, 1863, During the Union Occupation, in New Orleans, Orleans Parish, Louisiana.
The couple had their second daughter, (Marie Louise Elionore) 19 December 1866 and third daughter (Marie Angelica Theodora) 25 October 1869, in Convent, Saint James Parish, Louisiana.
On May 16th 1868 Theodore became a Naturalized Citizen in the
Fourth Judicial District Court, Convent, Saint James Parish, Louisiana.
After the Civil War there were a lot of people that were in need of help just to survive. Ex Confederate Military Units would band together and form Associations that would help the needy. Over the years Theodore belonged to at least four of these organizations. Every place Theo moved his family, he became involved in one. He held an office in all four organizations I found him in.
Theodore was the Secretary of the Mutual Assistance Society of St. Jacques (Saint James Parish) in 1870.
Saturday, February 26, at 4 pm will take place the monthly meeting of
the society of mutual assistance of St Jacques
all shore society members are urged to attend the meeting
where important decisions may be voted
By June 1st 1870 Theodore and his Family had moved to New Orleans and Theodore was making his living as a "Soap Manufacturer".

On January 29th 1874 The St. Maurice Benevolent Association of Versaille and Barracks was established.
Theodore was the Founding President. The Association Incorporated February 27th 1874.
This association ran an Asylum that was a home and school for orphans.
